There are endless opportunities and places to volunteer, it can be overwhelming choosing just one. In the past, I have volunteered at my children's schools, donated to the SPCA and Covenant House here in Vancouver, and to urgent causes through the Red Cross.
I really wanted a place to go, where I could give of my time and interact with those who needed help - The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is such a place. I have learned that Food recipients come from all walks of life, in need sporadically or on an ongoing basis. Life can be difficult and absolutely expensive. Th GVFB is a wonderful and necessary service that I am thrilled to be a part of.
In addition to volunteering my time, I would like to also help with cash donations. The food bank receives food directly from grocery stores but also buys groceries with our cash donations. If you are interested in donating please go to the link:
